Required Vendor Training is a training program for licensed cannabis operators required by state regulatory bodies and agencies, designed to protect consumers and establish industrial operating standards.

Green Flower’s Required Vendor Training program has been approved for use by the Cannabis Control Board of the State of Vermont.

Course Description

Vermont CCB Board Rule 2.2.5(b)(i-v) and 2.2.5(c) requires that all customer-facing employees of retail cannabis establishments complete trainings regarding the following topics, and may not sell cannabis or cannabis products to consumers until they do so:

  • Operating, security, health, safety, and sanitary procedures for the retail establishment
  • Compliance, enforcement, inspection, incident reporting, and record-keeping
  • Acceptable forms of identification for staff and visitors
  • Inventory control and appropriate tracking systems
  • Cash handling
  • The health effects of Cannabis and Cannabis Products
  • Preventing the sale of Cannabis to minors; and
  • Signs of over-consumption and signs of mental health or substance abuse disorder.

 

This certificate course has been approved by the Vermont CCB to provide the training required.

Welcome to Green Flower’s Responsible Vendor Training Program.

This program and the certificate earned demonstrate that learners have gained the knowledge required to satisfy minimum licensure requirements as set by the state of Vermont.

There are a total of 16 modules to complete in this course, including a 30 question multiple choice final exam.

What do Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion mean in Cannabis?

This module includes 22 informative slides on the importance of DEI in the cannabis industry, a knowledge check, and 2 related video segments.

In this module, the specific topics covered are: Physical & Mental Health effects, Modes of Consumption & Safety Guidelines, Cannabis Addiction, Pregnancy & Breastfeeding, Using Cannabis Responsibly, and the effect of cannabis on minors.

Module includes 18 slides of cannabis education information, a knowledge check, and 2 related video segments.

This module includes 13 slides of information on preventing diversion, preventing the sale of cannabis to minors, and best practices in checking IDs.

This module contains 5 slides of information on dealing with difficult situations in cannabis, including intoxicated customers, illegal activities, and potential de-escalation strategies.

This module includes 3 slides of information on general business rules applicable to licensed cannabis operations.

In this module, the specific topics covered are: Introduction to Security Procedures, Security Plans, Physical Security, Master Security Programs, Risk Analysis, Limited Access Areas, Signage, Alarm Systems, and Video Surveillance.

Module content includes 13 slides of cannabis education information, a knowledge check, and 1 related video segment.

This module includes 4 slides of information on waste disposal in cannabis businesses, what it means to be unusable and unrecognizable, and simple best practice recommendations that simply daily operations.

In this module, the specific topics covered are: Personal Hygiene, On-Premises Sanitation, Safe Storage, Cultivation Specific Health & Safety Requirements, Edible Cannabis GMP Requirements, Traceability & Product Recalls, and Fire Prevention.

This module includes 4 slides of information on patient and consumer allotment considerations, “looping”, and the right to refuse sales.

In this module, the specific topics covered are: Inventory Tracking Systems, Inventory Tracking Requirements, and some key tips for using inventory tracking systems.

Module content includes 5 slides of cannabis education information, a knowledge check, and 1 related video segment.

In this module, the specific topics covered are: Cash Handling & Transportation, Transport Manifests, and Inventory Tracking & Transportation.

Module content includes 5 slides of cannabis education information, a knowledge check, and 1 related video segment.

This module includes 5 slides of information on business records in licensed cannabis operations, including required records, personnel records, and patient/consumer confidentiality.

This module includes 6 slides of information on labeling in cannabis, including label requirements, required information, cannabis indicators, and other warning labels.

This module includes 6 slides of information on enforcement & discipline in licensed cannabis operations, including local licensing authority, inspections, incident reporting, administrative liability, and criminal liability.

The Responsible Vendor Training final exam includes 30 multiple choice questions drawn directly from lesson content. To pass, learners must complete the exam with a score of 70 or above. 

Learners are given two opportunities to pass the final exam before the assessment becomes locked.

To facilitate digital exam proctoring requirements, learners are required to upload a picture of themselves holding a valid government-issued identification card that clearly shows both their picture and name.

Valid forms of identification accepted for this purpose include driver’s license, military ID, or a passport.
